BOULDER OPAL
Similarly with other Australian opals, Queensland boulder opal is formed when silica rich water seeps into the crevices of ironstone and sandstone boulders deep within the Earth's sun burnt crust.
After tens of millions of years through sedimentary formation, it emerges as a gemstone unlike any other. A canvas of vivid rainbows dancing across its rugged, earthen host rock.
The ironstone naturally married to the opal lends strength and contrast, allowing the opal’s spectral hues to shimmer with bold clarity against it.
